1980 Philadelphia Phillies World Series Championship Ring Presented to Richie Ashburn. No Major League outfielder--not Mantle, not Mays, not Snider--recorded as many putouts in the 1950's as the man to whom this gorgeous symbol of excellence was presented, a player whose own taste of Fall Classic action was confined to a four-game sweep by the New York Yankees as a member of the 1950 "Whiz Kids." Ashburn witnessed this first of only two franchise World Championships from the Phillies' broadcasting booth, where the 1995 Hall of Fame inductee earned a new generation of fans with his folksy delivery of such lines as "This fella on first looks runnerish," and "It's a leadpipe cinch that they'll bunt here."
